How to add art to your Frame TV

This short guide will take you step by step through how to get Etsy art on your Frame TV. The same process applies to getting your own photos onto your TV, as well as any artwork you've purchased or downloaded for free.

There are two ways to get your own pictures onto your Frame TV which I’ll go through below.

The best way to get art onto your Frame TV

The most convenient way is to load them using the Samsung ‘SmartThings’ app which is available in the App Store for Apple devices and the Google Play Store for Android.

Here are the steps to follow:

1. Install the SmartThings app onto your phone (or ipad/tablet)
2. Ensure your phone is connected to the same Wifi network as your Frame TV
3. To make it easier, create a folder on your phone where you’ll store the art (called ‘Frame TV Art’, for example)
4. Download your art files into this folder on your phone
5. In the SmartThings app, select your TV
6. Go to ‘Art Mode’
7. Add your photos from the ‘Frame TV Art’ folder
8. You can adjust the display (brightness, colour tone, matte/border, etc)
9. Enjoy your art!

Using a USB stick to transfer art to your Frame TV

Some people have reported problems getting the SmartThings app to work reliably. Fortunately there is another method which you can instead which is particularly useful if you have a large number of images to transfer. Enter the humble USB stick!

Here are the steps for using a USB stick to transfer art onto your Samsung Frame TV:

1. Plug your USB stick into the USB port on your One Connect Box
2. On your TV, select ‘Art Mode’
3. Go to ‘My Collection’ or ‘My Photos’
4. Select your USB stick
5. You can select one or more images, then select ‘Save’ or ‘Send’ to transfer them
6. After transfer is complete, you can remove your USB stick

Note that the wording in the interface depends on the software version on the TV.

Using either of the methods above you should now successfully have your own art or photos on your Samsung Frame TV. Nothing left but to enjoy it!
